The final leg of our travels was slightly nearer to home, and definitely easier to negotiate than the Metro in Moscow. The European Team Coffee Challenge roared into life with teams from Ireland; UK, Russia, Estonia, Iceland and Germany competing for the title. Here at Beyond the Bean we try not to be biased, but it was great to see the UK team walking away with the title this year.

Here at Beyond the Bean we are heavily involved with Barista Championships and other events around the world. We believe they are crucial within the industry to promote interest and knowledge in speciality coffee and help to encourage co-operation and development between countries. We saw this in action in Dublin and Norway where baristas got to compete in a friendly, fun environment, and even shared some of their tips.
