As you will know we are an environmentally friendly bunch here at BTB. When we became master distributor for the rather scrummy Byron Bay Cookies our concerns about food miles were shared with many of our customers. As a short term measure we have been carbon offsetting all the transporting of the cookies with the World Land Trust. We are now very happy to announce that as of November we’re bringing the baking to Blightly with the full UK range in production over here by February next year.
We are now very happy to announce that as of November we’re bringing the baking local, with the full UK range in production over here by February next year.
As if this wasn’t enough, we’re helping to create new jobs at the bakers, using locally sourced ingredients where possible (if you know of any UK based Macadamia nut growers, please let us know!) and free range eggs. Of course the cookies still come in biodegradable packaging and use only the finest ingredients. We’ll be having the cookies approved the Vegetarian Society, and the Gluten free range will be getting the Celiac Societies thumbs up too.
Made with exactly the same recipes, in specially produced ovens using artisan baking methods you can be sure of the same great taste, with the added feel good factor of low food miles, and supporting British bakers and farmers to boot.
