We are now working with the UK Barista Championship (both as a sponsor, and Helen is on the committee – fancy, we know) to find our best barista to represent the UK in Atlanta, USA in April next year. To get a taste of the competitions we are hosting a barista jam on the 29th October in Bristol, to run through the all important rules changes, see Hugo’s WBC presentation and pick up all important tips from Paul Meikle Janney of Coffee Community, Ed from The Clifton Coffee Company, who will be sharing his love of espresso and Steve Leighton, Has Been will be talking about Cup of Excellence coffees. And that’s just the Bristol jam! As the UK’s barista’s are spread far and wide Stuart at Pumphrey’s will be hosting a jam on 26th November up in Newcastle. Included in the day up North tour of the roastery, cupping sessions and a latte art smackdown, more barista action than you can shake a stick at!
