Most people accept that warm and wet are is the best you can hope for from a service station coffee but our friends at Coffee Primo are working hard to make this a thing of the past. The group already run a ‘Lead Barista’ programme ensuring that all their staff are fully trained in the way of the barista and have now gone one step further with the help of Beyond the Bean. Starting with a barista workshop with lessons on developing their own drinks, the art of milk preparation, blending and roasting 50 members of their team enjoyed a full day of learning, with a view to finding Coffee Primo’s overall Master Barista 2008. The group will now be looking forward to 5 regional heats and a grand final in December, encouraging more UK baristas to love what they do and appreciate the art and science of coffee.
